How it works

The family manager applies
Anyone asks for a family space from the public page - name, email, and a phone number proven by text message.
The app support team accepts
An app manager reviews the application and opens the family space.
The manager builds the tree
The family manager creates the family tree and invites by email everyone they can reach.
Members validate and suggest
Each member accepts or rejects their own links - parent of, child of, in union with - and suggests other relatives.
Members own their data
Each member records their own information and shares it type by type, with exactly whom they choose. Nobody else can read it - not even the app owner: everything is stored encrypted.
Growing the tree
Members suggest people
Every member can grow the tree, not only the manager: suggest a new person together with their link to an existing member. The suggestion shows dashed and stays pending until the family manager - or the member the link concerns - accepts or rejects it.
Three relationships only
The tree knows parent of, child of, and in union with - nothing else. Any other kinship is that chain spelled out: to suggest a cousin, add the people in between - the shared grandparent, then the aunt or uncle as their child, then the cousin as that person's child.
What matters
Encrypted at rest
Names, dates, places, and every private entry are stored encrypted. A copy of the database identifies nobody.
You own your data
Each member records their own details and grants access type by type. Nothing is readable without your grant.
Delete means delete
Removing your data erases it permanently - entries, grants, and your account once nothing else depends on it.
Copy, not sharing
Each family is a separate space. You can copy your private data from one family to another - existing entries are kept or replaced, your choice - and the copies then live independently.
Anyone can report misconduct; reports go to a family manager or to the app managers.

When it is not muted, the tour opens by itself after a quiet moment and shows, step by step, how to get the most out of the app - it can also answer your questions.
